Carlisle Area Composite Racing is a mountain bike team for middle and high school athletes in Carlisle, South Middleton, and Big Spring school districts.
Carlisle Area Composite Racing (CACR) is a youth mountain bike team serving student-athletes in the Calrlisle, Big Spring, and Boiling Springs School Districts, as well as student-athletes who attend nearby private schools or are homeschooled. CACR is part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL) and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
The goal of the CACR MTB Team is to introduce boys and girls (6th to 12th grade) to the sport of mountain biking through both race and adventure events. Our hope is that the fundamental skills and fitness benefits learned through CACR will be carried far beyond high school. Like the many coaches and parents involved with the team and the league, we hope to develop mountain biking as a new life-long athletic interest for our athletes.
Carlisle Area Composite Racing hopes that the kids on the team will establish the habit of exercise and fitness along with a love for positive living and the outdoors. Additionally, cycling, a sense of self-reliance, and bike maintenance skills learned by the student athletes will remain with them for their lifetime, unlike traditional sports which typically have short athletic windows of time.
Our team and coaching philosophy is to use cycling, and the mountain bike itself, as a way-of-thinking to transport our riders to a sense of adventure, exploration, excitement, friendship and good health.
